2025: A Year of Community-Building Focus

egarstang6

We are grateful to be kicking off another New Year! As we look to the future and all we hope to achieve, we reflect on values of community and connection, which are central to Community Care Corps’ mission.

To ensure community living is a reality for everyone, it is paramount that we develop systems that promote health, support independence and maintain critical social support.

Community Care Corps (C3) grantees exemplify the core elements of community—relationships, service and purpose. By engaging their community members and fostering trust among friends and neighbors, grantees across the nation are implementing innovative volunteer models that offer responsive and adaptive support for older adults, adults with disabilities and family caregivers.

For example, many grantees are engaging older adults, adults with disabilities and family caregivers in models of mutual support where they can share their wisdom and knowledge. Other grantees have introduced new platforms for social connection, including virtual support groups and podcasts. And still others are finding creative ways to encourage friend and family volunteerism through hosting group events and rolling out volunteer driver mileage reimbursement programs.

Not only are grantees effectively meeting the needs of their service populations, but they are delivering enormous impact by fostering meaning and community along the way.

As we head further into 2025, we encourage you to reflect on what community means to you. How will you prioritize relationships, service and purpose in 2025?

Stay in touch to learn who our incoming grantees will be!
